Imagine yourself as a child, your mom hands you a quarter while you are at the corner store.
She finally says you can pick something out. You are entranced by the shelves of candy. You stand there forever deciding on which candy you want to try next. You pick out the perfect piece of candy. You hand the quarter over and you slide that piece of candy into your pocket. You arrive home, run to your room and enjoy every bite. You remember going to your grandma's house and on the coffee table there was a little green basket and inside of it were these carefully wrapped red strawberries. She always had them waiting for you when you came to visit. You would carefully unwrap the strawberry, pop it in your mouth and listen to grandma tell a story or watch her cook. These are a few of my candy memories growing up. Candy brings back the memories of our childhood, it warms our heart to connect to something or someone we loved. Take a step back in time with us and relive some of your favorite memories. The Candy Stop started in 2017 with a vision of how to bring the traditional candy store back. We took two years developing our concept, sourcing the best candies, and developing a plan. In 2019 we participated in our first vendor show. The pandemic hit and we had to take a sidestep and opened an Etsy store specializing in candy gift boxes. In late 2021, we were able to go back on the road and bring the candy store to events and shows. This Spring, we will open our doors in Batavia, Illinois for a seasonal pop-up candy shop.
